Values I Bring To Therapy

Safety

I recognize that safety is a complicated concept, and it looks different for everyone. I endeavor to create a calm, consistent, and curious space that your mind, body, and spirit can trust and depend on. Safety is something we can talk about, be curious about, and create together.

Curiosity

Each time we meet, you can expect me to be ready to explore anything you bring into our space. Big emotions. Icky mysteries. Painful experiences. “Too muchness.” “People pleasing.” All of your feelings and parts have their own story, experiences, history, context, and interconnectedness. All of you is welcome in therapy.

Intersectionality

We are all a complex, beautiful mix of identities. Our intersectionality forms intersections and edges. Your age, gender, sexuality, race, class, hyphenations, neurodiversity, bodily diversity, generationality, politics, activism, kink, sex work, artistry, passions, traumas, survivorship, amorphism, and more gets to be here, be seen, and be met.

Transparency

I promise to be honest with you when you ask me questions, especially when I don’t know the answer. I’ll be transparent with you about the process of therapy and our relationship, and empower you to make informed decisions about both. All of this said, the focus will always be on you.

Collaboration

I work with my clients to provide therapy that makes the most sense for whatever you’re experiencing. I’ll ask you about accommodations that would improve your comfort in therapy. I write letters of support for my clients for no added fee. This is a relationship where you can speak your needs, and your needs are prioritized.

Liberation

It’s really hard to be a human, and the world doesn’t make it any easier. So often, it feels like we have to hide parts of ourselves, or perform, or shape ourselves from outside pressures rather than inward truths. A space without words can be the hardest place for any feeling to be. In therapy, we will shine a light on all of you, and help you find your words.
